Large Capacity For Steel, Aluminum & Composites. Microstop Countersink Cage, WES696 Series

Precision Microstop Countersink Cages

A Wescon microstop countersink cage sets the countersink depth once and holds it hole after hole, on metal and composite airframe parts.

Made in USA to aerospace-grade manufacturing and quality standards, our microstops are built for high-cycle OEM and MRO work. Capable of speeds up to 10,000 RPM, they feature dual ball bearings and heavy-duty thrust bearings to reduce runout and vibration. With micro-adjustments in increments of 0.0005 inches, tooling engineers can dial in exact depth for any advanced composite or traditional alloy. The entire catalog is available in both Imperial (e.g., 1/4-28) and Metric (e.g., M6x1, M8x1) cutter threads.

Interchangeable Foot Pieces for Surface Protection

Proper surface contact matters during hole preparation. We offer three foot piece options for different surfaces. Choose non-marring Nylon, Phenolic or Steel foot pieces to protect aircraft skins and composite panels from scoring, in high-friction, heavy-duty production work.

Custom Microstop Engineering

Beyond our standard catalog, Wescon USA builds to order. If your assembly line requires extended reach cages, unique skirt geometries, vacuum-adapted tooling, or tight-clearance footprints, our engineering team can design and manufacture custom microstops to your airframe specifications.

• 0.0005" adjustment: Positive-locking steps, so the depth stays where you set it.
• High-Precision Spindles: Dual ball bearings and integrated dust seals for a longer tool life.
• Global Compatibility: Every series comes in both metric and imperial cutter threads.
• Quality control: Machined and inspected in-house, with no compromise on precision or quality.
• In-House Production: Every cage is made under one roof, so we control quality and lead times.
• Fast, Global Shipping: In-stock cages ordered by 12 PM CST ship the same day, worldwide.
